Who is Mitt Romney?

Mitt Romney was born on March 12, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. He is the son of George Romney, who was governor of Michigan from 1963 to 1969, and Lenore Romney. He has four brothers and five sisters. Romney graduated from high school in 1965 and then went on to attend Stanford University for one year before transferring to Brigham Young University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1971. In 1994, Romney ran for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Ted Kennedy but lost by a wide margin.
